Andy BakerLicensed Regional Sales ExecutiveTerritory: Tampa and SarasotaResides: Sarasota, FLYears with POP Yachts: 1-plusFamily: Not marriedQ. When did you develop a love of boating?I was born with it. I'm from Sarasota and went to Tampa for college at USF. I try not to stray too far from the beach, ever. And I look forward to owning a boat in the future.Q. What kind of boat would you want?I'm leaning toward a Power Cat. I love the ride of them. I could do a center console with a small cabin in it.Q. Have you closed any interesting sales lately? They all have their own individual, cool stories. I'm just happy when buyers are satisfied with what they get. There's no high-pressure sales tactics. We have so many listings with high-definition photos online. You can coordinate a showing, and if they like it, great, if they don't, go on to the next one. I don't close on a deal until everyone is happy.Q. How does POP Yachts set itself apart from its competition? The opportunity for the seller to still sell their boat out on their own. Allow us to do all the legwork for you, but you still have a chance to find your own buyer. Again, it's a low-pressure situation and it's the Paid On Performance philosophy.Q. When you're not selling boats, what do you like to do for fun?Go to the beach, swim in the pool.Q. What do you think it takes to be a good sales person?Honesty and integrity.Q. What do you like most about working for POP YachtsAll the listings are as truthful as possible. Time and time again on showings, people say it's awesome that the pictures match up exactly with how the boat is. They tell me they've gone to see another boat, and the photos don't show the bilge or hull damage, they take photos from a different angle. With us, for anyone who wants additional pictures, we'll take more before they make their travel plans [to come see the boat].Q. What do you see in the future for POP YachtsI see it continuing to blossom. I think it's going to be the go-to website on the Internet for used boats.
